The new Norm of Growing Online

The Internet might be the greatest invention as it has allowed this generation of people to easily connect with their friends and family but it has its own negatives along side the good that it does.
As the PBS presentation, "Growing Up Online" by Rachel Dretzin establishes the opinions of parents and their adolescent teens concerning what the internet has come to and the influence it has on the kids.
The Internet today plays a huge role in our education system . This "addiction" to media and technology has led a shift in our education. The education system has seen an increase in student that lack the focus to learn in traditional manners due to fast paced nature of the internet and media.  This increase has forced educator to adapt by incorporating technology, and the internet into the teaching.

The internet environment bring us advantages and some disadvantageous. We should learn to protect our personal information while also accepting the fact that it has now become a norm to be online and it is undoubtedly a big part of our lives.

Obama moving Forward through Social Media

The 2008 Obama Presidential campaign made history.  Not only was Obama the first African American to be elected president, but he was also the first presidential candidate to effectively use social media as a major campaign strategy. It’s easy to forget, given how ubiquitous social media is today, that in 2008 sending out voting reminders on Twitter and interacting with people on Facebook was a big deal.
Obama gained such a huge influence among the younger generations of Americans voters through social media. Even if it seem like its not a big deal, but young voters are the hardest to vote as they are known for not even caring enough to vote.Social media creates a new political dialogue. Therefore Social media is a normal and central form of communications with distinctly different properties than traditional mass media approaches.  Obama has set the bar for future campaigns but social media and network structures should be given serious attention in the media strategy, whether it’s for politicians, organizations, brands or public service initiatives.
